Vignettes are a celebration of mixed materials. Beautiful handmade papers such as O-gami, Cave Paper, and double tissue are accented by a thoughtful selections of woods. Additional materials such as epoxy and metal can further enhance the piece providing colorful accents and reflective sheens. Each element is carefully chosen to best showcase both the standalone material and the synergy of each component. They truly are better than the sum of their parts.
ORIGINAL BY DESIGN
Designing origami is a unique combination of mathematics and sculpting. The inception of design is the base, an arrangement of paper containing all desired flaps at their respective lengths. The base utilizes geometries such as boxpleating, 22.5 degree angles, and many other emerging techniques and is represented by a Crease Pattern. In shaping, artistry takes over and the details and pose of the model take the forefront.
